- Remember to hang the paper right side up. Hold the strip
up to the wall to see how the pattern flows. A good rule
of thumb is flowers grow up.
- Patterns rarely match exactly along the entire seam (due
to uneven walls), so match your pattern at eye level.
- When choosing a wallpaper design, be sure to note the
lot number of the rolls of wallpaper. If you need additional
paper, these numbers will guarantee a close match.
- Make a small room appear larger by wallpapering the walls
with a light neutral color such as off-white. Also be sure
to paint the ceiling in a color that is lighter than the
walls.
- Make a big room with high ceilings seem cozy with dark
colors or a large, dark print wallpaper.
- If wallpapering over a rough wall, consider hanging liner
paper first. Liner paper helps the wallpaper adhere better
to the surface and acts much like a primer does when painting.
This ensures longer lasting, more professional looking results.
